President announces the name of the coming year

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev addresses the Parliament of Uzbekistan. It is being broadcasted live on “Uzbekistan” and “Uzbekistan 24” TV channels.

The meeting is being attended by the parliament’s leadership and members, the Government of Uzbekistan, regional governors, accredited diplomatic corps and the public.

Speaking at the summit, the president proposed to declare the coming year as the “Year of Active Investments and Social Development” in Uzbekistan.

This proposal of the president was welcomed and supported by the audience with applause.

“No state, unless it creates decent investment climate, will achieve considerable results in its economy. Attracting investors is not an easy task, I know. But this is the only way for development. If we want to achieve the high goals we set, we need to create all pre-conditions and an attractive investment climate for investors,” the president said.

“We are on the threshold of great things. We need to change the laws, the decrees and the cadres’ mind if needed,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev added. “If we remove the barriers in this area, the investment climate will be ensured”.
