Uzbekistan introduces a 30-day visa-free regime for citizens of Germany
From January 15, Uzbekistan introduces a visa-free regime for German citizens for a period of 30 days, Kun.uz correspondent said.
This is done to “strengthen cultural, scientific, educational exchange between countries, improve the investment climate and increase the tourist flow”.
It should be noted that the number of tourists from the Federal Republic of Germany who visited Uzbekistan in 2016 was 4889 people, in 2017 – 7207 and in 2018 – 18094 people.
The prerequisite for the establishment of a visa-free regime was the data on the use of the E-visa program by citizens of Germany. As of December 28, 2018, 1089 citizens of the Federal Republic of Germany issued entry visas, taking the 10th position among the countries whose citizens used the program.
It should be noted that Uzbekistan plans to introduce a visa-free regime for another 22 states in the near future. Currently, it applies to citizens of 18 states only.
During the ten months of 2018, the number of foreign citizens visiting Uzbekistan exceeded last year’s figures by almost 2 times and amounted to about 4.4 million people. Significant growth was provided by the visa-free regime introduced in 2018 for citizens of 9 countries.
