Uzbekenergo and heat supply organizations will be allocated over 700 billion soums from the State Budget to cover debts
The state budget will allocate Uzbekenergo and heat supply organizations subsidies of more than 700 billion soums to cover debts, Kun.uz correspondent reports referring to the presidential decree.
This decision was made to “financially support the basic sectors of the economy and ensure the implementation of timely settlements in the face of rising tariffs on natural gas and electricity”.
The subsidies of Uzbekenergo and its enterprises will be allocated to cover part of the cost of natural gas. In particular, 354 billion soums will be distributed between power plants and other generating facilities.
Heat supply companies will be allocated around 360 billion soums to cover losses resulting from the application of lower tariffs for the population.
It should be recalled that on November 16 last year, the price of gas for household consumers increased to 320 soums per cubic meter, electricity - to 250 soums per kilowatt. In addition, it is planned that from July 1, 2019, the cost of gas in the country will rise to 350 soums, and electricity from June 1, 2019 - to 280 soums.
