President Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed to create a legal information system Advice.uz, which includes a free consultation portal for the public. The corresponding decree was signed by the head of state on January 9.

It is planned that the portal will be commissioned this summer. In addition, a legal act will be drafted, providing for the development of a system of free voluntary legal assistance for socially vulnerable groups of the population.

The President also instructed to complete the creation of the National Legal Internet Portal by January 1, 2020, which includes a database of legislation and a system for accessing additional legal information (a legal dictionary, an electronic legal literature platform, an online forum for discussing draft legislation and others).

The document submitted to the chambers of Oliy Majlis envisages establishing parliamentary control over the activities of state bodies and organizations for the implementation of legal propaganda, communicating to the public the essence and significance of the adopted acts of legislation, as well as improving the legal literacy of the population.

The Ministry of Preschool Education, together with the Ministry of Justice, has been instructed to develop and submit in the prescribed manner to the Cabinet of Ministers proposals for the systematic introduction of demonstration classes in preschool educational institutions with the involvement of qualified specialists on the topic “Rights and duties of the child”.

Starting from the 2019/2020 academic year, the educational institutions of the country will begin to introduce a mechanism for the continuous and systematic improvement of students’ legal knowledge, as well as to ensure a fundamental revision of curricula aimed at improving the legal literacy of students and school children.
