Entrepreneurs’ surcharge for excess electricity and gas consumption to be reduced tenfold
By November 1, 2024, measures will be taken to facilitate prepayment for electricity and gas to entrepreneurs, increase consumption limits, and reduce surcharges for electricity and gas consumed in excess of the norm by at least 10 times.
A decree “On measures to implement the tasks set in the fourth open dialogue of the President of Uzbekistan with entrepreneurs” was adopted.
As part of the 5-directions of the program of the open dialogue of the President of Uzbekistan with entrepreneurs for 2024, the following were approved:
• a list of draft legislative documents to be developed;
• a practical action plan.
From November 1, 2024:
• all commercial banks and microfinance organizations are involved in supporting small and medium-sized businesses based on government programs;
• commercial banks and microfinance organizations microloans at the expense of their own funds while maintaining the procedure for refinancing unsecured microloans in the amount of up to 100 million UZS allocated to small business entities or providing guarantees for them within the framework of the comprehensive program “Ongoing support for small businesses”, implemented on the basis of the presidential decree, are allowed to increase to 300 million UZS.
Until November 1, 2024, prepayment for electricity and natural gas for entrepreneurs should be facilitated, contractual limits for electricity and natural gas consumption should be increased, and surcharges for excess electricity and natural gas should be reduced by at least 10 times.
