A draft law “On the status of a teacher” is submitted for discussion

The Ministry of Public Education submitted a draft law “On the status of a teacher” for discussion, the press service of the Ministry noted.

The document will consolidate guarantees to protect the honor and dignity of teachers at primary and secondary schools.

“In particular, it is prohibited to make deductions from teachers’ salaries, including subscription to periodicals, as well as other deductions not envisaged by the law. It is not allowed to attract teachers of educational institutions to forced labor,” the document says.

In addition, parents do not have the right to interfere in the professional activities of teachers.

In June, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated the need for fundamental reform of the education system in the country. The government considers it necessary to increase teachers’ salaries and to get rid of the bureaucratic burden as quickly as possible.
