Shavkat Mirziyoyev to meet with Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Angela Merkel

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay an official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany on January 20-22, 2019, the presidential press service said.

In Berlin, the capital of Germany, negotiations will be held with Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel and Chairman of the German Bundestag Wolfgang Schäuble.

The agenda of the visit includes issues of further deepening the political dialogue, expanding trade, economic, investment and financial cooperation, implementation of joint programs and projects, enhancing cultural, humanitarian, scientific, educational and tourist exchanges.

There will also be an exchange of views on topical issues of international and regional politics.

In the city of Munich, the President of Uzbekistan is scheduled to meet with Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder, as well as representatives of leading German business and financial circles.

During the visit, it is planned to sign a package of bilateral documents on cooperation in the fields of economics, finance, innovation and investment, science, technology, education and culture.
