Grafter who promised to help getting Chevrolet Cobalt car through his “contacts” caught red-handed

During a rapid operational event organized by the staff of Jarkurgan district department of the Prosecutor General's Office, it was identified that citizen Z. K. promised to get Chevrolet Cobalt car for citizen O. by the “help” of his contacts working at the auto showrooms. The lawbreaker was caught red-handed while receiving $400 in a bribe.

In addition, upon inspecting the detainee, $17,850 and 773,000 soums were found in his pockets. When he was asked to comment on the cash findings, it was clarified that he purchased them from unknown persons dealing with illegal sale of foreign currencies near the Agricultural Market of Jarkurgan district. He paid 8,350 soums for each US dollar and also, planned to resale them.

A criminal case was initiated on the fact under relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Investigative actions are being conducted.
