Drug trafficker with 23 kg of opium detained in Surkhandarya region
A criminal, who tried to smuggle a large amount of narcotic substance from Tajikistan, was detained in Surkhandarya region.
During the pre-investigation operations, it was identified that Abdukodir Khabilov, born in 1993, received 23,333 kilos of opium packed in 30 plastic bags from a Tajik citizen Khoji. The courier was detained upon entry to Sariosiyo district of Surkhandarya region.
It should be noted that Abdukodir Khabilov, a resident of the makhalla “Bogi Samarkand” in Sariosiyo district, has already been prosecuted for theft in 2017 and is currently serving a sentence of correctional labor.
Currently, on this fact, the Office of the State Security Service of Surkhandarya region initiated a criminal case under articles 246 and 273 of the Criminal Code against the detainee. An investigation is underway.
