Deputy Minister of Public Education of Uzbekistan Dilshod Kenjayev stated that school directors should not interfere in the process of buying school uniforms.

“Despite the fact that school directors are prohibited to interfere in the process of implementing school uniforms, some principals may give “recommendations” on the purchase of products of certain enterprises,” Kenjayev said.

It should be noted that a new school uniform will be introduced from the academic year 2019-2020. In this regard, district and regional departments of public education institutions should provide information on the number of pupils in order to ensure that uniforms are prepared on time.

Currently, the Association “Uztukimachiliksanoat” is forming a list of manufacturers of school uniform in the context of regions.

The Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan, regional and Tashkent city administrations should organize trade markets for school uniform manufacturers in the center of each district (city) and publish their addresses in the media.

Heads of schools were instructed to carry out explanatory work on the benefits of uniforms among parents during parental meetings and take measures to prevent the participation of school principals or class teachers in the process of implementing school uniforms.

It should be recalled that introduction of the uniform is envisaged in three age categories - for pupils of 1–4th, 5–8th and 9-11th grades. They can be purchased by the use of short-term microcredit.

The main requirements for the uniform are the quality of tailoring and the obligatory use of fabrics produced in Uzbekistan. The kit includes trousers, a shirt, a vest and a suit for boys and a skirt, a vest, a jacket or a sundress for girls.
