Uzbekistan’s ranking in the Corruption Perceptions Index is getting even worse
According to the Corruption Perceptions Index, which is presented annually by Transparency International, Uzbekistan is one of the least transparent countries.
The republic is ranked 158th, scoring 23 points out of a maximum 100 in 2018.
It is worth recalling that in 2017 Uzbekistan occupied the 157th place and in 2016 – 156.
Denmark, New Zealand, Finland, Singapore and Sweden were the TOP-5 nations leading the ranking.
For information, Russia occupied the 138th place. Among neighboring countries, Kazakhstan ranked 124th, Kyrgyzstan – 132, Tajikistan –152 and Turkmenistan – 161.
From the countries of the former USSR, Estonia was at the top twenty, where authorities have been actively developing the “e-government”. Compliers of the ranking noted significant improvement in the rating of this country.
South Sudan, Syria and Somalia concluded the list respectively.
