Lawbreakers selling 15 kilograms of mercury for $100,000 detained in Tashkent

Mercury is one of the most poisonous substances. Particularly, its evaporation in the air circulation can seriously damage human health. However, there are also some wrongdoers who try to sell this toxic substance illegally for making easy money.
According to the data of the press service of State Customs Committee, during an event held in Bektemir district by the Tashkent city Customs Department for Combating Counterfeit and Customs Infringement, citizens D. A. and Z. A. have been arrested upon selling a “conditional customer” 15 kilograms of mercury for $100,000.
Currently, customs investigations are underway on the case.
