Tashkent hosted first international conference on preparation works for the exhibition “Civilizations and Cultures on the Silk Road”
The first international conference dedicated to the preparation works for the exhibition “Civilizations and Cultures on the Silk Road” was organized today at “Hyatt Regency” hotel in Tashkent by the Arts and Culture Development Foundation under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The exhibition, which will take place in Louvre Museum, is scheduled for 2021.
The event in Tashkent was attended by experts from the Louvre Museum (France), Center for Research and Restoration of the Museums of France and representatives from the cultural institutions of Uzbekistan.

Participants of the conference addressed such issues as insurance, packaging and transportation of each museum exhibit to be displayed at the Louvre Museum.

Furthermore, a meeting between the restorers of Uzbekistan and Yannick Lintz, Head of the Department of Islamic Arts at the Louvre Museum and Rocco Rante, Director of the French-Uzbek archeological expedition in Bukhara, will also be organized on February 1, 2019 in the conference hall of the Ministry of Culture, during which questions on the restoration of museum exhibits and their possible display at the Louvre Museum will be discussed.
