Ministry of Justice approves the program to train mediators 

Recently, the Program for Training Mediators has been approved by an order of the Minister of Justice. 
 
It is envisaged that the Center of advanced training for lawyers at the Ministry of Justice organizes special training courses for mediators, the Ministry noted. 
 
Mediation is one of the alternative dispute resolution methods (alternative dispute resolution, ADR) with participation of a third neutral, impartial, non-interested party in the conflict. A mediator helps the parties to work out a specific agreement on the dispute, while the parties fully control the decision on the settlement of the dispute and conditions for its resolution. 
 
Mediation is based on the principles of voluntariness, confidentiality, mutual respect, equality of the parties, neutrality and impartiality of the mediator, transparency of the procedure. 
 
These courses provide for training on a contract basis for at least one month in full-time education. 
 
The training program for mediators consists of the following training programs: “Mediation. Support course” and “Particularities of using mediation”. 
 
Training sessions will be organized in the form of lectures, seminars and workshops. 
 
Practical exercises are aimed at developing the qualifications of students to work with acts of legislation in problematic situations. 
 
In the educational process can be applied clinical education, imitation of controversial (conflict) processes, field work and self-education. 
 
In the period of education, students will be provided with teaching materials in electronic form. 
 
If there is appropriate an informational-methodological, organizational-technical base, special training courses can be organized using distance learning methods. 
 
Students who successfully complete training courses are issued a certificate.
