Lukoil increased gas production in Uzbekistan in 2018
Gas production of the PJSC Lukoil in 2018 amounted to 33,5 billion cubic meters, which is 16% more compared to 2017, the company's website reported. In the last quarter of 2018, gas production amounted to 8,9 billion cubic meters, it is 5% higher than in the third quarter of 2018.
The main factor in the growth of gas production was development of projects in Uzbekistan. Thanks to the launch of new gas producing facilities by the “Kandym” and “Gissar” projects, in 2018, it increased to 13,4 billion cubic meters (in the share of the Lukoil group), which is 67% more than in 2017.
In the autumn, Lukoil talked about the impact of projects in Uzbekistan on the company's financial results. Then in January-September 2018, sales revenue increased by 40,2% and amounted to 5,9 trillion rubles.
A positive impact on the dynamics of EBITDA in both periods was rendered by an increase in the share of high marginal volumes in the structure of oil production, growth in gas production in Uzbekistan, growth in oil production in Russia in the third quarter of 2018, decrease in unit costs for production, as well as an increase in refining and sales volumes through premium trading channels.
