14-storey House of Councils on the square Kuksaroy in Samarkand to be demolished
On February 15, at the Samarkand regional administration, a meeting was held, under the chairmanship of the regional governor Erkinjon Turdimov, on execution of instructions of the President dated February 6, 2019.
It was about destructing some of the buildings out of 159 objects that did not meet requirements of town-planning standards in the historic center of the city and reconstructing the rest according to the requirements.
In particular, it was announced that few building with more than 10 meters height in the historical center of the city would be demolished by March 1.
While speaking about not to have eye-catching tall buildings in the historical part of the ancient city, the governor also announced that a 14-storey house of councils of regional administration on the square Kukaroy in Samarkand city will soon be demolished. Various regional organizations and departments located in it will be transferred to other buildings.
There is also a 12-storey Business Center building on the square Kuksaroy. The governor did not clarify anything about destruction the building, but it was likely that this building would be destroyed according to the promised tendency.
It should be recalled that a 14-storey administrative building, built in the 80's of the last century, has been installed a large screen with LED light. It demonstrates advertisement of the famous Samarkand brands along with various symbols of our country.
