Fergana oil refinery to be transferred to management of a private company
The President, noting the high profitability of the chemical industry, ordered to attract direct investment to promising projects in the oil and gas sector in 2019-2025.
The need to develop proposals for improving the system of Uzbekneftegaz JSC, revise tariffs based on market principles, gradually transfer tank farms and regional gas supply services, in particular the Fergana Oil Refinery, to public-private partnership.
The history of the Fergana oil refinery goes back to 1868, when the industrialists Fedorov, Khludov, Zakho, Gromov and others made the first attempts to develop oil fields in Fergana valley.
Later, Russian businessmen tried to develop oil fields. Only in 1904, oil wells were opened, the oil production of which was so productive that the question of building their own oil refinery was ripe. On January 27, 1959, it was decided to consider as an establishment day of the plant.
