Uzbekistan, Tatarstan eye to increase trade turnover by 80%
Uzbekistan this year intends to increase trade turnover with Tatarstan by 80%, the Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Achilbay Ramatov said at a meeting with Tatarstan’s President Rustam Minnikhanov in Kazan, tatar-inform.ru reports.
“This year we plan to increase trade turnover by 80% compared to last year. For this we invite our Tatarstan colleagues to Uzbekistan. You can organize various types of production in all directions. It will be a good step,” said Achilbay Ramatov.
According to him, the trade turnover of Uzbekistan with Russia is more than 6 billion US dollars. “With Tatarstan there should be at least 10% of this amount,” Ramatov noted.
Rustam Minnikhanov added that in 2017 the trade turnover between the two republics grew by 80%, and in 2018 - 57%, amounting to 146 million US dollars.
“We need to work on increasing the trade. We need large-scale projects so that the business of Tatarstan is represented in Uzbekistan and vice versa,” the RT President stressed.
