Uzbekistan national team will participate in the China Cup which will be held on March 18-26 in Nanning, China. Uruguay, China and Thailand will also participate in the tournament. The tournament consists of semi-finals and finals.
According to the decision of the tournament organizers, the semifinal of Uzbekistan will be held on March 22 against Uruguay national team. Prior to that, hosting China will compete with Thailand on March 21.
On March 25, the final and the third place playoff will be played.
For information, the competition “China Cup” has been held for the past two years. The tournament was attended by Chile, Iceland, Croatia and China in 2017, Uruguay, Wales, the Czech Republic and China in 2018. Both previous tournaments were held in Nanning.
It is reported that before the start of “China Cup-2019”, a press conference with the head coach of Uzbekistan Héctor Cúper will be organized in Tashkent, in which the list of footballers going to China will be announced. So far, the meeting date has not been announced.
It should be reminded that Uzbekistan national team played a friendly match against Uruguay in June 2018. At that time, the national team of Uzbekistan competed with the South American team for the first time in their history and lost the match by 0 : 3.
