According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kuala Lumpur, on March 4, 2019, a meeting was held with the leadership and faculty members of the Islamic Science University of Malaysia (USIM).

USIM was founded in 1998 and conducts training in 32 areas. About 15 thousand students study at the university.

During the meeting, prospects for the development of relations between the USIM and educational institutions of our country were discussed and the fruitfulness of such cooperation was emphasized. Over the past six months, USIM has signed partnership agreements with Urgench State University and the Samarkand State Institute of Architecture and Construction in the field of joint research, as well as training and advanced training of specialists and student exchanges. The Malaysian university has also established cooperation with the National University of Uzbekistan and Bukhara State University.

As a result, a series of lectures by leading professors of the USIM at the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan and Urgench State University on Islamic Law and Banking, Tourism, Management, ICT and other areas was organized in January of this year.

In order to further deepen the interaction between universities and continue the practice in the “visiting professors” format, an agreement was reached on sending the dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Construction of USIM to Uzbekistan to conduct a lecture course on sustainable architecture at the Tashkent Architectural Construction Institute from March 27 to April 11, 2019.
