Anti-Corruption Committee to be set up in the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis
The Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan is creating a Committee on Judicial and Legal Issues and Countering Corruption, the press service of the lower house of parliament reports.
“This committee is entrusted with a number of tasks to exercise parliamentary control over the formation and implementation of state anti-corruption programs in state bodies and institutions, prepare proposals for improving legislation on combating corruption, as well as analyzing existing acts of legislation in order to identify provisions and norms, creating conditions for fighting corruption,” the message reads.
The agenda of the next meeting of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis also includes the issue of creating a new committee.
It should be recalled that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in his report at a meeting devoted to the 26th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution, stressed the need to establish anti-corruption committees in the chambers of Oliy Majlis.
