Timur Azamatov becomes MUIC director

Co-founder and head of the robotics school RoboKidz and business school for children Nest Timur Azamatov has become head of the Mirzo Ulugbek Innovations Center (MUIC), Gazeta.uz reported.

The information was confirmed by Timur Azamatov himself. He also added that at the new post, he plans to develop not only the program directions with which the center is associated, but also such industries as robotics, machine learning, artificial intelligence and so on, since IT innovations are not just programming.

MUIC was established in June 2017. The first leader was Khurshid Sultanov, who was replaced in December 2017 by Farkhad Ibrakhimov, who had previously worked in the structure of the Ministry of Finance. A year later, the center was headed by Nodir Dekhkanov, who worked in the Central Bank and NAPM. After Dekhkanov and before Azamatov, Orifjon Fayziyev temporarily supervised the center.

Timur Azamatov (born 1980 in Fergana) graduated from the management faculty of the Fergana Polytechnic Institute, in 2004 he went to the UK to study e-commerce in the magistracy of the University of England Ruskin.

After returning in 2008, he started his first business - engaged in video surveillance and security systems.  Four years later, he moved to Tashkent, where he opened a representative office of the Dubai-based Eventagrate - a company specialized in developing mobile applications. Since then, he has participated in the development of many projects:

• founded the studio Mobis for web and mobile development (2013); 

• launched the Smart Education Internet portal that facilitates electronic document management in education sphere (2015); 

• opened the school of robotics RoboKidz together with Alisher Isayev (2015); 

• opened the school of young entrepreneurs Nest with Ilgiz Nurgalimov (2017).
