Uzbekistan calls on China to take part in the activities of the Educational Center for training Afghan citizens in Termez

The sides exchanged views on the current situation in Afghanistan and the prospects for launching a peaceful intra-Afghan dialogue aimed at establishing a long-lasting peace in the country, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.

As emphasized, Uzbekistan and China attach great importance to the consolidation of the efforts of the international community to resolve the conflict in Afghanistan.

The meeting discussed the prospects for strengthening the interaction of the two states in the Afghan issue, including the participation of the PRC in the activities of the Educational Center for training Afghan citizens in Termez and the implementation of other joint projects in various fields.

The Chinese side expressed its readiness to join the development of the project for the construction of the Mazar-i-Sharif-Kabul-Peshawar railway. In this regard, Deng Xijun stressed the importance of the project initiated by Uzbekistan for the entire region, the development of its transport infrastructure with subsequent access to the countries of South Asia.

The conversation also addressed the issues that are planned to be included on the agenda of the upcoming meeting of the SCO-Afghanistan Contact Group in Bishkek.
