Courts on criminal proceedings considered cases against almost 10,000 individuals in January-March 2019
In the first quarter of 2019, courts on criminal proceedings considered 7,750 cases against 9,946 individuals. These indicators have decreased by 31.5% (convicts) and 29.9% (cases) respectively compared to the same period of 2018. The press service of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports about it.
In particular, 147 persons were justified and rehabilitated, 7,649 persons were convicted, of whom 1 954 were sentenced to imprisonment and 5,309 were imposed various punishments, 386 were convicted conditionally.
Conviction indicators for committing crimes, such as intentional killing, robbery, robbery, embezzlement, fraud, theft, illegal exit to foreign country or entry to the Republic of Uzbekistan, hooliganism, robbing vehicles, violating the rules of transportation or movement of vehicles, delivering serious or medium-size bodily injuries, have decreased compared to the same period last year.
It was reported that as a result of effective works of the institute of reconciliation, 1,804 individuals were released from criminal liability during the reporting period.
3 544 criminal cases, that is, about 45,7% of all cases, were considered at the mobile court hearings.
In addition, prosecuting council on criminal proceedings under the supervision of the Supreme Court has re-examined 242 cases against 297 individuals. Decisions taken by lower courts in relation to 169 persons have been abolished, and court rulings on 83 individuals have been amended.
