Atomic Energy Information Center to open in Tashkent
In May of this year, the Atomic Energy Information Center will be opened in Tashkent. This was announced by the president of the industrial complex “Rusatom - international network” Alexander Merten, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
Similar institutions are being established in the regions in whose territory nuclear power plants and other facilities are located.
“Taking into consideration public opinion, we are doing a lot to create information centers in different countries that provide data about nuclear technologies, modern approaches in the implementation of nuclear medicine, energy and the use of our nuclear technologies in agriculture. I am very pleased to anticipate the opening of such a center in Tashkent this May,” Merten said on the margins of the international forum Atomexpo-2019 in Sochi.
“It is very important to convey to the population of Uzbekistan all the information about nuclear technologies, about how nuclear energy helps to save the planet due to the fact that CO2 emissions into the atmosphere are reduced,” he added.
According to Alexander Merten, nuclear power should not be feared, since it “brings much more benefit than any other generation could have.”
“The whole world understands that nuclear power is part of green energy,” the expert noted.
Atomic energy information centers are multifunctional educational platforms that are created under the auspices of the state corporation Rosatom in regions where nuclear facilities are being built or are already operating. Their task is to provide information on nuclear technologies, activities of enterprises of the nuclear industry, popularization of science and innovations, as well as technical education.
