Mother, selling her a-week-old baby for 10 million soums, detained in Shakhrisabz

Law enforcement officers detained a woman in Shahrisabz while selling her newborn baby for 10 million soums. This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General’s office.

“During the operational event carried out by the staff of Shakhrisabz city department of prosecutor’s office in cooperation with regional internal affairs bodies, citizen N.K. living in the Ipak-Yuli makhalla of the city of Shakhrisabz, was detained with physical evidence while receiving 10 million soums from citizen J.R. for the sale of her newborn baby,” the stamen reads.

On this fact, in relation to N.K., a criminal case was initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code. Investigative actions are underway.
