Five female convicts executed for “grave crimes” released from the courtroom
On April 19, the Judicial Board of the Supreme Court reviewed the criminal cases of five convicted females who committed “grave” and “especially grave” crimes, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
The prisoners were sentenced to between seven and a half years and thirteen years, depending on their crimes committed.
The Supreme Court heard the parties, prosecutors and lawyers, and the words of the women convicted. The prisoners apologized to the president and the people regretting for the crime they committed. The court also took into account the fact that the defendants were subject to age, morality, and serving the majority of punishment. They were released from the courtroom on the basis of a letter of guarantee issued by the Women's Committee.
The Women's Committee stressed that these women will be assisted with community reintegration.
