The World Junior Figure Skating Championships will be held in Tashkent in 2022, Uzbek figure skater Misha Ge said.
The tournament will be organized in the capital of Uzbekistan from March 7 to 13, 2022.
It should be recalled that for the development of winter sports in Uzbekistan, the ice arena “Humo” was specially built, the grand opening of which took place in the middle of March this year. Famous guests arrived to the celebration, including prominent Russian figure skaters and hockey stars. Popular Russian artists staged a real holiday for the people of Tashkent.
According to the authors of the project, the design of this complex resembles the Uzbek symbol of love, happiness and freedom – the Humo Bird.
The main arena accommodates 12,500 people and will be used for hockey matches. The hall has the ability to change the placement of seats depending on the sporting event held. The main arena also includes basketball, volleyball, handball, futsal, boxing, taekwondo, short track, figure skating and curling matches, as well as concerts. Capacity in a format of a concert hall is intended for 10,000 spectators.
