Abdulaziz Kamilov receives newly appointed Ambassador of Georgia
On May 8, 2019, Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia Zurab Abdushelishvili.
Accepting copies of his credentials, the Minister congratulated the Ambassador on starting work in Uzbekistan and wished him success.
During the conversation, the current state of the Uzbek-Georgian relations and prospects for their development in political, trade-economic, transport-communication, tourism, cultural, humanitarian and other fields, as well as within international organizations were reviewed.
The parties confirmed their interest in the further boosting of mutually beneficial cooperation in various areas, including by increasing bilateral trade and expanding the range of mutual deliveries of goods and services.
It was noted that the beginning of regular flights en route Tashkent-Tbilisi-Tashkent starting from July 16, 2019, will contribute to the intensification of bilateral exchanges, development of fruitful cooperation in the tourism sector.
The meeting also discussed selected issues of international and regional nature.
