At the National Press Center of Uzbekistan, a briefing on celebrating the Ramadan Khayit has been arranged for media representatives. The event was organized by the Committee for Religious Affairs under the Cabinet of Ministers.

As Kun.uz correspondent reports, the first deputy chairman of the Committee Muzaffar Kamilov said that 5,500 people from Uzbekistan performed Umrah pilgrimage during the holy month of Ramadan.

In “Umrah – 2018-2019” season, 27,380 Uzbeks have performed Umrah pilgrimage. Of these, 5,500 pilgrims accomplished their journeys during the holy month of Ramadan. 690 of them performed the Eid prayer at the Kabatullah in the city of Mecca.

During the season, pilgrims were served by a working group of 22 people, 133 doctors and 25 cooks. Each group has been assigned an experienced team leader, he said.

According to Muzaffar Kamilov, since the end of 2018, a quota to the Umrah pilgrimage has been abolished, and the Muslims of Uzbekistan were able to accomplish Umrah journeys without any limitations.

In addition, it was announced that arrangement of the Umrah pilgrimages would be resumed after the completion of Hajj pilgrimages due to the seasonal preparations for Hajj.
