Tanzila Narbayeva may become Senate Chairman
Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Women’s Committee of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva may become Chairman of the Senate of Oliy Majlis, Kun.uz source reports.
Today, June 20, a regular meeting of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis was held in Tashkent. Deputies considered a number of organizational issues. In particular, they approved the candidacy of Elmira Basitkhanova as deputy prime minister at the proposal of Abdulla Aripov, head of the government of Uzbekistan.
It should be recalled that currently, this post is occupied by Tanzila Narbayeva. In December 2018, she was re-elected chairman of the Women’s Committee of Uzbekistan for five years.
According to the source, tomorrow, June 21, the XX plenary session of the Senate will be held in Tashkent. During the meeting, Tanzila Narbaeva will become a senator and be elected head of the Senate.
Since April 1, a law has been in effect in Uzbekistan, according to which the president approves members of the Cabinet of Ministers at the proposal of the Prime Minister after approval by the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis.
