Uzbekistan to host FAO regional conference
For the first time, Uzbekistan will host the regional conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the Ministry of Agriculture reports.
The conference will be held on May 5-7, 2020. Uzbekistan will be the first country in Central Asia to host such an event. FAO's strategic goals are to contribute to the fight against hunger, increase the fertility and stability of agriculture, forestry and fish farming, and reduce poverty in rural areas.
These days, a delegation led by the Minister of Agriculture Jamshid Khodjayev is holding talks with agriculture ministers of various countries, including the United States, the People’s Republic of China, Egypt, the Republic of Korea, Ukraine, Chile, Kazakhstan and others.
During the meetings within the framework of the conference, the sides agreed to implement new FAO projects in Uzbekistan.
