Traffic Patrol Department: Road patrol officers will not be using body cameras from July 1
It should be recalled that starting from July 1, a traffic police officer was said to use a body camera while on duty and inform road users about it. Besides, drivers were said to be granted the right not to submit documents to a traffic police officer who performs service without a body camera.
However, the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On amendments to the government decree “On approval of the regulation on the procedure for regulating relationships between road patrol service employees and road users and the use of special devices”, published on the regulation.gov.uz portal, annulled the above document.
According to the draft decree, the law will be obligatory starting from January 1, 2020.
The reason for postponing the demand of using body cameras is not known yet. The above draft document is still not signed and has not entered into force. It may be changed or rejected.
