USA becomes one of TOP-3 countries where citizens of Uzbekistan most often emigrate
The USA has become one of the TOP-3 countries where citizens of Uzbekistan most often emigrate, follows from the data of the State Statistics Committee for January-June 2019.
In total, 4847 people left Uzbekistan in H1 2019 for permanent residence in foreign countries.TOP-3 includes Kazakhstan (56.3%), Russia (36.9%) and USA (1.2%). Other countries account for the remaining 4.6%.
During the same period, 1361 people came to live in Uzbekistan, most of all from Kazakhstan (29.7%), closely followed by Tajikistan (24.2%), Russia (22.3%) and Kyrgyzstan (14.3%). Other countries account for the remaining 9.5%.
Internal migration was recorded at 77.5 thousand people, with the highest migration balance falling on Tashkent, the capital city.
