Employees of budgetary organizations attracted to landscaping of cemeteries in Bukhara
In Bukhara, employees of budgetary organizations have been involved in the landscaping of the Khazrati Imom cemetery for a month. This was reported on social networks by blogger Umid Gafurov, referring to his sources.
“The cemetery is just in terrible condition. Nobody looked after the graves. As some kind of global forum is about to take place, the administration is now forcing many budgetary employees (schools, kindergartens, clinics) to clean. Call roll takes place from 7 am every day. It is happening for more than a month. And nobody has covered the issue anywhere,” the blogger resents.
The blogger asked the khokim of the city of Bukhara Uktam Barnoyev and the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations for explanation on his Facebook page.
“It’s necessary to tidy up the cemetery. But why force people? They are not paid in any way. Where does the Ministry of Labor look? Will there just be a reprimand again? Because the khokim exceeds authority? Hundreds of people were forced to clean and tidy other people's graves. But for this there is a cemetery directorate, special workers, in the end! Is it okay to stay in air-conditioned rooms while state employees work in the cemetery?” the blogger writes, noting that there is an abnormal heat these days.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations stated that the department has already begun an audit on reports of forced labor in Bukhara.
