SSS detains customs officers who extorted money from entrepreneurs at a check point
On August 5, employees of the State Security Service and the Customs Committee detained a group of customs officers who extorted money from entrepreneurs.
Reportedly, such a crime was committed by the customs officers of the “Yallama” check point. As noted, some individuals played the role of intermediaries and took money from entrepreneurs, so that customs officers would allow transfer of goods across the border without any queues or proper inspections.
On this fact, a criminal case has been initiated against the detainees under the relevant Articles of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan.
