Abdulaziz Kamilov meets with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow in Ashgabat

On August 16, 2019, Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the next round of inter-MFA political consultations, was received by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow.
According to the press service of the MFA, Kamilov conveyed the warm greetings and sincere congratulations of the head of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the President and fraternal people of Turkmenistan in connection with the successful holding of the first Caspian Economic Forum, in which the Uzbek delegation led by the Prime Minister of the country took part.
During the conversation, key issues on the bilateral agenda and promising areas for further development of the Uzbek-Turkmen multifaceted ties were discussed.
It was noted that thanks to the strong political will of the leaders of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, an unprecedented intensification of mutually beneficial cooperation between the countries is observed today. According to the results of the H1 2019, the trade turnover amounted to $257 million, which is 2.8 times more than the figure for the same period last year.
The parties also exchanged views on cooperation within the UN, the CIS, the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea and other global and regional organizations.
