Uzbekistan among TOP-3 countries whose citizens pursue education in Russia
The FSB of Russia disclosed data on the number of foreigners who arrived in the country for study purposes. EMISS website published the report.
In the first half of 2019, 181,500 people entered the Russian Federation to pursue education. Students from Kazakhstan lead in the list (59,300), the second place is occupied by China (21,200) and the third by Uzbekistan (14,000).
Students from Ukraine, Iran, India, Egypt, the USA and other countries also come to Russia for studying.
Branches of many Russian universities have been operating in Uzbekistan for a long time. For example, MGIMO, Moscow State University named after M. V. Lomonosov, Russian University of Economics named after Plekhanov and Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after Gubkin offer higher education in Tashkent. Also, a branch of the National University of Science and Technology MISiS has recently been opened in Almalyk.
