Commercial banks in Uzbekistan start selling foreign currency at exchange offices
Commercial banks in Uzbekistan have started selling foreign currency at exchange offices, the Central Bank Chairman said.
“Within the framework of measures to further liberalize the foreign exchange market, starting from August 20, commercial banks started selling foreign currency in cash through exchange points,” the regulator noted.
In recent days, an increase in exchange rate volatility has been observed at auctions of the domestic interbank foreign exchange market. In particular, on August 20, the exchange rate of the US dollar against the Uzbek soum on the URCE amounted to 9384 soums.
