FM Abdulaziz Kamilov receives US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale
Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale, who arrived in our country on a working visit, the MFA press service reported.
The parties exchanged views on issues of bilateral relations, interaction within the framework of multilateral structures and cooperation on relevant regional as well as international matters.
The sides noted with satisfaction that at present, the Uzbek-American multifaceted relations are developing dynamically. This was facilitated by an active dialogue at various levels. An important step in strengthening contacts was the official visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Washington in May last year and the talks held with President Donald Trump and senior members of the US administration.
It was emphasized that the key priority for Uzbekistan is close cooperation with the United States in the field of investment, attracting advanced technology and American experience for the economic and technological modernization of the country.
At the meeting, special attention was paid to the prospects for deepening constructive ties in the cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The parties reaffirmed their strong commitment to strengthening and expanding mutually beneficial relations between Uzbekistan and the United States in all areas of mutual interest.
David Hale praised the progress of comprehensive reforms in Uzbekistan and confirmed the readiness of the American side to assist in the implementation of joint projects, including the intensification of educational exchanges. The meeting also addressed other topics on the general agenda.
