Kamilov: “We have built relations with the Afghan government, the opposition and the Taliban”

At a plenary session of the Senate of Oliy Majlis, Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov expressed his opinion on the situation in Afghanistan.
“People are outraged and say that now there is a war going on in Afghanistan, and we are talking about some projects. This is being done considering the future of this country. One day tranquility will be established in Afghanistan. We have built relations with the government, the opposition and the Taliban. They are all tired of the war. People, who were born at the time of Soviet Union attack on Afghanistan, are already 40-45 years old. In their entire life they have seen nothing but war. Only “Kalashnikov”, war, killings and blood. Therefore, they are all tired of it. We think that they will agree on a compromise,” he said.
According to the minister, the Afghans have been waging war for a long time, and they will not be able to put an end to the current conflicts in one day.
“However, they have no other way. Another way is war and blood again. Such a policy has no future. To date, US representatives support our president’s policy in terms of peacekeeping in Afghanistan. They claim that as a result of the Uzbek President’s policy in the region, a new political environment has emerged,” Abdulaziz Kamilov concluded.
