Uzbekistan plans to introduce technology for plasma utilization of municipal solid waste
Chairman of the State Committee for Ecology and Environmental Protection Bakhrom Kuchkarov discussed with the Singaporean Alpha Global Capital (S) Pte. Ltd. Executive Vice-President Samad Salim the issues of cooperation on introducing plasma technologies for waste management in Uzbekistan.
According to the State Committee for Ecology, this technology does not have a negative impact on the environment and human health. It does not require sorting, it reduces the disposal cost.
In particular, a plasma installation can process up to 5 tons of waste per day and produce heat or electricity, and the 5% of ash generated can be used as fertilizer in agriculture or in the production of building materials.
The Committee plans to implement the project “Introduction of advanced technologies for the disposal of solid waste” worth $15 million. Singaporean investors expressed their willingness to share and exchange effective technologies in this area.
Investors also expressed their readiness to jointly implement investment projects in the field of wastewater treatment technologies.
Following the talks, the parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
