Four wrestlers from Uzbekistan reach the quarterfinals of the 2019 World Wrestling Championships
The capital city of Kazakhstan, Nur-Sultan, is hosting the 2019 World Wrestling Championships. The tournament is the first qualification event for the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games.
Around 900 hundred athletes from 100 countries, including Uzbekistan, are taking part in the world championships.
In the 1/8 finals of the tournament, four Uzbek wrestlers defeated their opponents from Iran, Ukraine, China and South Korea to reach the quarterfinals.
Now they will compete with athletes from Japan, Armenia, Germany and Norway.
In particular, the following matches will be held:
-55 kg: Ilkhom Bakhromov - Shota Ogawa (Japan)
-63 kg: Islomjon Bakhromov - Slavik Galstyan (Armenia)
-72 kg: Aram Vardanyan - Felix Widmaier (Germany)
-82 kg: Nurbek Khoshimbekov - Rajbek Bisultanov (Norway)
