France to help Uzbekistan to attract foreign direct investment in developing socio-economic infrastructure
On September 17, 2019, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of Oliy Majlis Sodik Safoyev met with the delegation of the French Republic, headed by the Special Representative of the Minister for Economic Diplomacy in Central Asia Pascal Lorot.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of further developing bilateral relations.

It was emphasized that the visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to France in October last year and the agreements concluded as a result of negotiations opened up new opportunities for the development of Uzbek-French relations and strengthened economic-investment ties.
It is noteworthy that France is one of the top political and economic partners of Uzbekistan in the EU. Currently, comprehensive work is being carried out between the parties in the field of attracting financial and technical assistance, as well as foreign direct investment in the development of the socio-economic infrastructure of Uzbekistan.

The important areas of cooperation include improving the urban heating system, developing hydroelectric power stations in Uzbekistan and financing projects in the private sector.
