Enterprises providing public transportation services in Tashkent suffer billions of dollars loss
The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution “On measures to financially improve the economic condition of organizations rendering passenger transportation services in Tashkent”.
According to the document, in the IV quarter of 2018 and the I quarter of 2019, bus fleets of the JSC Toshshahartranskhizmat suffered losses in the amount of 38.715 billion soums and the SUE “Toshkent metropoliteni” - 9.011 billion soums. The document says that the primary cause of the losses was transportation of passengers at marginal tariffs.
The Ministry of Finance and the administration of the city of Tashkent were instructed to compensate for the losses:
a) bus fleets of the JSC Toshshakhartranskhizmat for the IV quarter of 2018 and the I quarter of 2019 in the amount of 38.715 billion soums from additional sources:
- republican budget - 27.771 billion soums;
- local budget of Tashkent - 10.944 billion soums;
b) SUE “Toshkent metropoliteni” for 2018 and I quarter of 2019 - 9.011 billion soums.
The JSC Toshshakhartranskhizmat was instructed to ensure the allocation of funds in the amount of 38.715 billion soums to cover damages and to pay for diesel fuel used.
In addition, the State Unitary Enterprise “Toshkent metropoliteni” was instructed to ensure the allocation of funds for 2018 and I quarter of 2019 in the amount of 9.011 billion soums to pay off debts for the consumed electric energy.
