Abdulaziz Kamilov calls on Asian countries to join forces to develop a UN Convention on Youth Rights

Delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov took part in the CICA meeting of ministers in the USA on September 23, the MFA press service said.

During the meeting, participants discussed a wide range of issues of regional and international security, ensuring sustainable economic development, cultural-humanitarian cooperation, as well as the situation in Afghanistan.

In his speech, the head of the Uzbekistan delegation emphasized that the CICA has become a full-fledged international platform to discuss issues of creating a common and indivisible security space in Asia.

The FM also congratulated the Tajik side on its successful chairmanship of the organization and expressed support for the CICA Action Plan for 2020, which provides for holding international conferences on combating youth radicalization at the initiative of Uzbekistan.

It was emphasized that the future, security, sustainable development and prosperity of our continent are directly dependent on how we nurture the young generation. In this regard, Abdulaziz Kamilov called for joint efforts to develop and adopt the UN International Convention on the Rights of Youth, the purpose of which is to create favorable conditions for the harmonious development and self-realization of young people.
