On November 1-3, Uzbekistan will host the First International Samarkand Half Marathon charity race. The goal of the Samarkand Half Marathon project is to promote a healthy lifestyle and the development of sports tourism in Uzbekistan.
Both experienced and beginner runners can take part in the half marathon. There are three different distance categories: 21 km, 10 km and 2 km.
In the course of the preparation for the half marathon, the Fund for Development of Culture and Art of Uzbekistan will conduct a study on the problem of inclusiveness. Specialists will organize trainings at theaters, museums and libraries. The results of the study will be presented in the form of a report as part of the educational program at the half marathon.
The proceeds raised from the event will be used to implement a pilot project in one of the theaters in Tashkent.
Registration for the Samarkand half marathon for all three distances will last until October 20 on the website.
