Uzbekistan, Iran eye to open direct air links between Tashkent and Tehran

On October 21, 2019, Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hamid Nayyerabadi, the MFA press service said.

During the meeting, the parties noted that Uzbekistan and Iran have developed constructive and dynamic relations aimed at further strengthening cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

The sides paid special attention to enhancing cooperation in trade-economic, investment, transport-communication and tourism fields, opening direct air links between Tashkent and Tehran.

Following the talks, the Minister wished the Ambassador success in his work in a high and responsible post.
