Deputy khokim of Yunusabad district detained red-handed while taking bribe
Deputy khokim of the Yunusabad district on issues of construction detained, head of the public relations and legal information department of the Prosecutor General’s Office Khayot Shamsutdinov told Kun.uz.
It is reported that he was detained red-handed while receiving $5,000 in bribe from a citizen for registration of ownership for a structure erected without permission.
On this fact, the Prosecutor General’s Office initiated a criminal case under paragraph “B”, Part 2 of Article 210 (Acceptance of bribe) of the Criminal Code.
Currently, an investigation is underway.
It should be reminded that in September 2018, the former khokim of the Yunusabad district Bakhtiyor Abdusamatov was detained on suspicion of receiving a bribe ($400,000) for providing a site to an investor illegally.
In May of this year, Abdusamatov was found guilty under Article 205 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan and sentenced to 5 years in prison.
