Deputy khokim of Shahrisabz district detained upon receipt of $100 in bribe

In Kashkadarya, deputy khokim of the Shakhrisabz district and an administrative specialist were detained. This was announced by the head of the public relations and legal information department of the Prosecutor General’s Office Khayot Shamsutdinov.

On October 29, 2019, a specialist on agricultural affairs of the Shakhrisabz district khokimiyat B. A. (born in 1982) offered citizen S. M. (born in 1965) his “assistance” to get the khokim’s resolution issued on the ownership of a land plot to build greenhouse. He was detained with material evidence when he received $100 in bribe.

Also, on the same day, deputy khokim of the district on agriculture and irrigation issues M. S. (born in 1966) was arrested with material evidence at the time of receiving a $100 bribe from the specialist in his office.

On the fact of briberies, the Shahrisabz district Department launched a criminal case under Articles 210 (bribery) and 212 (intermediation in bribery) of the Criminal Code.

Reportedly, B. A. and M. S. were detained on a procedural order.

An investigation is underway.
